The different types of bonding and their duration

A HAIR SYSTEM - HOW DOES IT WORK AND HOW DOES IT STAY IN PLACE?

A hair system is designed to restore a thinning area using a membrane into which hair is knotted or injected. It is intended for anyone looking for a quick, invisible solution to restore their hair. MAOLIS hair systems are generally manufactured in Asia using a polyurethane membrane (UHD systems), mesh (H+ - Air Lace), or both at once (H+ POLY - Hybrid Q6 - U-Lace).

The highest-quality natural hair is implanted into these membranes. Other competing brands often use blends of synthetic hair or less expensive yak hair, which are less suitable. Natural hair is preferred because it reacts to styling and drying just like your own hair.

The standard hair system is supplied in one large, universal size and is then cut to the desired size to cover the area being restored. This area is shaved beforehand so that the membrane adheres properly.

The hair system is then attached to the scalp or hair using 4 different bonding methods:

  • Double-sided adhesives: these double-sided adhesives make it easy to remove and maintain the hair system without having to visit a center. They are recommended for people who sweat a lot, those who cannot visit a center every month, or those who simply want to manage their maintenance themselves at home with ease. With this type of attachment, it is possible to remove the hair system every evening and keep the same adhesives attached to the system for a maximum of 1 week. The recommended hair systems for this type of attachment are UHD+, UHD MAX, H+ or H+ Poly.
  • Titanium or Fusion white resins: these white resins can be used either to adhere the entire surface of the hair system or only the front hairline. The advantage is that the attachment lasts longer, approximately 1 month. However, this type of bonding does not withstand sweating and swimming very well along the front hairline. It is therefore recommended to carry out a quick, simple touch-up at home using our complete kit.
  • Hybrid bonding allows the center of the hair system to breathe while ensuring strong adhesion around the edges through a combination of transparent resin and powerful double-sided adhesive films. This technique is particularly suitable for people seeking a long-lasting bond without too much sporting activity and wishing to avoid any uncomfortable sensation. It is recommended that you contact a Maolis partner hairstylist to perform this bonding technique, as these professionals have the necessary expertise and compliant products to ensure a longer-lasting attachment while keeping your skin safe.
  • G-FORCE bonding is a technique developed by Rodolphe, founder of Maolis.com and the Centre du Cheveu, the largest European center dedicated to hair systems. This method uses a resin that hardens quickly and bonds firmly to the hair, providing hold for up to 6 weeks and reducing the risk of lifting. It is particularly appreciated by people who engage in intense sports activities and experience hold problems with other attachment methods. However, this type of permanent bonding should only be performed by a Maolis Expert-certified hairstylist for optimal results.
  • Clips allow the hair system to be attached using small clips that fasten to the hair. They are ideal for people who do not want glue to come into contact with their skin or for those who have undergone a hair transplant and wish to regain normal density before the transplant’s final results. However, it is important not to touch the implants by avoiding clipping the hair system onto the transplanted hair at the crown. Your MAOLIS EXPERT hairstylist is available to advise you.

Although it is possible to install your hair system yourself, it is recommended that you entrust this task to a professional hair replacement specialist to ensure that it is carried out under the best conditions. Installation techniques vary depending on the type of hair system selected. Please feel free to ask us for advice via our WhatsApp assistance at the bottom left of your screen.
